Scores from this weekend, as I procrastinate an assignment due later today.
As always, home teams in CAPS.
PHILADELPHIA 76ERS 99 - Utah Jazz 93
Andrew Bynum really loves cheesesteaks.
INDIANA PACERS 103 - Dallas Mavericks 83
Indy really needed this one.
Orlando Magic 110 - DETROIT PISTONS 106
Battle of ugly.
Oklahoma City Thunder 110 - NEW ORLEANS HORNETS 95
HELLO Kevin Martin.
Golden State Warriors 106 - MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES 98
Is Kevin Love coming back soon? What about Ricky? AK47 can only do so much. Derrick Williams is shooting awful.
MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES 105 - New York Knicks 95
Lost my voice at the bar then got mad with my friends for not understanding; eventually, I just went home with my lady and stayed home for the rest of the weekend. S^%t F%&K!
Atlanta Hawks 112 - SACRAMENTO KINGS 96
Kyle Korver and Jeff Teague were a combined 14/19 from the field.
PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS 119 - Houston Rockets 117 in OT
Game of the weekend, we think. Damian Lillard is legit.
LOS ANGELES LAKERS 114 - Phoenix Suns 102
Gasol/Howard had a combined 34 points and 22 boards; Kobe had 31 on a very Melo-esque 10/24 from the field.
BOSTON CELTICS 107 - Toronto Raptors 89
Rondo’s 20 dimes were nice, but Pierce’s shooting is a good sign for Celtics fans.
Utah Jazz 83 - WASHINGTON WIZARDS 76
Wins the award for ugliest game of the weekend.
Memphis Grizzlies 94 - CHARLOTTE BOBCATS 87
Look at this touch pass from Gasol!!
Dallas Mavericks 103 - CLEVELAND CAVALIERS 95
Overall effort while the Mavericks await Dirk’s return.
MILWAUKEE BUCKS 117 - New Orleans Hornets 113
Anthony Davis is fun.
Also, the Ellis/Jennings backcourt was almost identical in the win.
SAN ANTONIO SPURS 126 - Denver Nuggets 100
Even Duncan swished a three to end the first half.
LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 101 - Chicago Bulls 80
Vinny Del Negro must have ceded all offensive power to Chris Paul.
Miami Heat 97 - PHOENIX SUNS 88
Chalmers was 5/7 and Bosh 9/11 as the Heat cruised without Wade.
NEW YORK KNICKS 88 - Indianapolis Pacers 76
TORONTO RAPTORS 97 - Orlando Magic 86
DeMar DeRozen is a passive aggresive slasher. Glen Davis should never lead you in scoring.
Cleveland Cavaliers 79 - PHILADELPHIA 76ERS 86
I still don’t like Evan Turner, but his 19 points were 5 more than the combined output of Irving, 9 points, and Waiters, 5 points.
Brooklyn Nets 99 - SACRAMENTO KINGS 90
The Nets have won five in a row. I’d be upset by this if the Knicks had lost again this weekend, but for now, I’m just waiting for Brook Lopez to return to earth. He still can’t rebound.
Golden State Warriors 109 - OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER 119
The Thunder blew out the Warriors in the second and third quarters and survived a late-game comeback by the Warriors. Russ finally had a good shooting night, 12/22, and both Ibaka, Durant, and Kevin Martin shot near 50% as well. For a struggling team, the Thunder are 8-3 on the season, but they’re not playing the toughest competition.
Boston Celtics 83 - DETROIT PISTONS 103
The Celtics looked disfunctional all night. Rondo turned the ball over 6 times, but still managed an assist to Jared Sullinger with around a minute left to collect his tenth of the game. It’s his 34th consecutive game with double figure assists, but how he accomplished it was cheap.
Chicago Bulls 94 - PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS 102
Nicolas Batum and Wesley Matthews each had 21 points, and Aldridge had 18 and 13. Chicago got a big game, 18 points, off the bench from Nasty Nate Robinson, but it wasn’t enough to get the win in Oregon.
Houston Rockets 108 - LOS ANGELES LAKERS 119
I’m watching this right now, but Dwight ends up with 28 and 13, and the Lakers have just put up 40 points in the first quarter to outscore the Rockets 40-29. Kobe will end up with a triple-double. Chandler Parsons led the Rockets with 24 points on just 10 shots.
