The NBA Dribbled Out

If you didn’t already know, Michael Jordan is turning 50 on February 17 of this year (which isn’t this Sunday, but the Sunday after). He’s exactly 20 years and 10 days older than me, so now you know how much older I am than the usual people who populate Tumblr. Feel free to make fun of my woefully unprofessional scribblings in relation to my advanced age; I welcome any and all opportunities for self-loathing. 

Anyways, I’m writing a little something personal for DimeMag to highlight the occasion, but I’m 100 percent convinced most outlets will have some feature about MJ’s Game 5 during the 1997 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz. Some of you may know it as the immortal “Flu Game.” In the interest of getting a jump on all those posts, here are a few gifs from that flu game. 

The GOAT is turning 50, so lets all take a moment to reflect; for those readers near my own age, who grew to love the game during MJ’s ascension to immortality, lets all take a moment to curse the encroachment of  ”An imperial affliction / Sent us of the air.” Hopefully I’ve still got enough time left to write something that gets published on actual paper before I drop off this mortal coil.
