Negative Dunkalectics decided to watch a doubleheader of Pistol Pete on NBA TV this July 4th. One game was from his 1978 season with Utah, and the other featured him as a rookie with If that doesn’t sound amazing then SHAME ON YOU! Regardless of Dirk’s paranoia, NBA TV is the ish.
I’m currently too poor at this point in my life for even a basic cable package, so reading a live-blog from Dennis G. Schmuck (I hope it’s a pseudonym) was the next best thing to actually catching the games yesterday. If you’re a total geek for Pistol, and his mercurial NBA career after possibly the greatest NCAA career of all time, then you’ll want to read this post.
His assessment of rookie Pistol makes a nice analogy to the classic Chris Farley Show sketch from SNL (remember when he stammers his way through an interview with Paul McCartney—yeah—that’s the reference).
Any way, if you’re like me and I guess others, and you’ve always been curious about Pistol in his inaugural NBA season for the Hawks, check it out if you missed the games from yesterday.
